Theodore Rimspoke

Theodore Rimspoke

Bicycle repairer Theodore Rimspoke is a free and independent spirit with more of a nose for inventions than business. He has previously made a name for himself with a number of cunning contraptions such as his pedal-activated combined shaver and raspberry-picker with camshaft-operated turbo propeller. Rimspoke uses a copying pencil, instant coffee and his own patented telescope ruler.

Among other fabulous features, the game gives you the chance to operate Rimspoke's recycling machine for scrapped bicycle parts.

Sonny Duckworth

Sonny Duckworth

Sonny Duckworth is the early bird personified, casually hatched in a weeping willow on the banks of the Aven. He is a born optimist with hand-knit muffler, felt galoshes and rather indifferent morals. Difficulties he treats as trifles, the impossible as a challenge. He is Rimspoke's right-hand man and spin-doctor.

In the film he hits on an ingenious way of getting the cash to build Il Tempo Gigante, and you can help him with this in the game. Among other tasks, you'll be helping him get down from the top of Pinchcliffe on his three-wheeled moped - and believe us - that ain't easy!

Lambert

Lambert

...is something of a night-owl, with a decided touch of the hay-fever and a distinct fear of anything that might rock the boat. He was run over by a lawnmower and emerged with a crew cut: short back and front and bushy round the ears. He was later found under the roots of a knotted oak, but was incorporated as a permanent resident at Rimspoke's. Here, he cuts a romantic figure among all the hi-tech gizmos and gadgets. In spite of his hay-fever, Lambert is a dedicated flower-fancier and, being a conscientious soul, always makes sure they get enough to drink in hot weather.

Lambert is pessimistic by nature, a modest soul and feels most at home off the beaten track. His reaction tends to be: "Oim ssssscared, and that's a fact." In spite of his deep-seated fear of petrol engines, Lambert turns out to have a key role to play during the motor race in the film....

Sheikh Abdul Ben Bonanza

Sheikh Abdul Ben Bonanza

How this filthy rich oil sheik and his companions found their way out of the desert and up to Pinchcliffe nobody knows. Sheik Abdul Ben Bonanza, his chauffeur and bodyguard Emanuel Desperados and his beautiful little feminine figurine surely represent an exotic touch. The fierce-looking money-grubber owns an oil company and is ready for some PR breakthrough.

In the game it is your duty to help Sonny get by Emanuel Desperados and enter the sheik's tent. Once you're in there you may challenge him in a game of chess, or help him build the pipeline from his oil wells to the refineries.

Emanuel Desperados

Emanuel Desperados

Sheik Ben Bonanza's bodyguard and private chauffeur is a genuine cross between a chimp and a gorilla. According to the legend he was born in a triple vertical twist during the banana harvest in the Viacamba swamps. His merits include beating the Sheik in chess at several occasions.

In the Pichcliffe Game, loads of bananas could be yours if you are able to guess where the ball is after Desperados' ingenious shuffling of the cups.

Solina

Solina

Solina is the beautiful little belly dancer travelling with the Oil sheik, Abdul Ben Bonanza. With long luscious eyelashes and dainty figure, she charms Sonny completely. Sonny catches a glimpse of Solina in the sheik's tent and will do whatever it takes to get another look at her. However, his persistence is about to drive Emanuel Desperados crazy...

If you find the correct hotspot inside the sheik's tent Solina will turn on the TV and the sheik will receive some crucial information. If you're lucky Solina might even perform her belly dance as well!

Rudolph Gore-Slimey

Rudolph Gore-Slimey

Rudolph Gore-Slimey came from humble stock in the village of Pinchcliffe. He worked as an apprentice at Rimspoke's cycle-repair shop for a while before he packed it in and went to town. Rudolph continued his rocketing career in big business and as a race-car driver. He won't stand to lose and does what it takes to win.

You may remember his "dirty trick" from the film (smoke screen). In the game YOU will be able to leave your opponents behind using a number of such tricks!

Eleazer Cassandra

Eleazer Cassandra

Rudolph Gore-Slimey's co-driver, Eleazer Cassandra, has a gift of second sight which has proved invaluable at tight corners.

Angus Snapforth

Angus Snapforth

We've had the very good fortune to secure the services of ace photographer Angus Snapforth to do our credits. He works longitudinally, preferring brief exposures, developing his own negatives in his Turkish-bath cabinet. Snapforth freelances for the local TV station in his leisure time. He has been known for creating disturbances, in 1974 a horse turned its head to stare at him.

In the game, Angus Snapforth controls the buttons and switches in the Pinchcliffe TV control room. If you have found or won film clips in the game this is where you can view them.

Dan Hoofer

Dan Hoofer

The postman, old foot-slugging Dan Hoofer, is the only trooper to make his way up the Lonetree Hill with the local rag and outstanding bills. Hoofer's greatcoat has a diamond tread. He's an active member of the Society of Registered Colour-Blind, he has been run over a number of times, and walks with a slight limp ... Hoofer plays the big bass on festive occasions.

Not much more to say about postman Hoofer.
